May 24th, Out of Gloucester- Stellwagon Bank
Today we had to go with quick short drifts again because the cod were in tight piles. Every time you would get on them all 5 rods were lap over with singles hook-ups and lots of doubles (if you were patient enough to wait another second before cranking.)
Fish were biting mostly on jigs and teasers. All fish were market size with a bunch of larges mixed in, with some up to about 20lbs. It was nonstop action every time the guys would drop, but as soon as you were off them it was time to move. No time to sit down as the move sometimes was only a boat length before it was time to send the jigs down again!
