Shimano Stella 5000SW Series Saltwater Spinning Reels
Stella SW Saltwater spinning reels — winner of the ICAST Best Saltwater Reel award — is touted for its excellent durability features, including cold forged ceramic coated aluminum spool, special spool lip coating and diamond-like carbon line roller. All should make this spinner very corrosion proof. Gear designs have been improved for extra durability as well, and the reels feature "propulsion line management system" and Aero Wrap II Oscillation. Five sizes are offered, all for serious saltwater anglers. Five sizes are offered, including one for the popular Butterfly jigging technique.
The Stella 5000SW is commonly filled with either 12lb test monofilament or 30lb test spectra braid to chase anything from Trout to School Tunas.
