Shimano Calcutta B Series Star Drag Round Baitcasting Reels
The Calcutta series of reels represents the core of Shimano's quality, versatility, dependability and long-term value. The 400 and 700 Calcutta are designed for heavy fresh water or medium saltwater duty. With Dartanium Drags, A-RB (Anti-Rust) Bearings, and Super Stopper anti-reverse, the Calcutta will give you years of solid performance and enjoyment.
Shimano's Calcutta 400B and 700B reels are available with either a levelwind to guide the line evenly on the spool, or the "S" version - an open spool, non-levelwind design. If you enjoy more casting and retrieving of artificial lures, the Calcutta levelwind model is your best choice. If your presentation is more live bait or surf-casting oriented - where you need easy access to the spool for controlling the line - the "S" version should be your choice. No matter what your fishing style and preference, Shimano provides the same casting distance with either style.
