The Black Bart Striper Candy is the culmination of many requests for a medium sized lure, specifically for targeting striped marlin. A lure that can take some harsh weather, speed and work on all sized boats. This new lure also needed to have a solid hook-up, as striped marlin are known to unhook themselves like magicians. Finding just the right size, weight, action and attraction; Striper Candy has all of the above! With borrowed design concepts that are found in Black Bart’s larger Marlin Candy and Grander Candy; Striper Candy comes from proven lines and was sized down to do a specific job and from all reports coming back it seems the JOBS DONE RIGHT!
Striper Candy is best trolled from the outriggers short or long, coupled with a good trolling speed between 8-12 knots. The recommended rigging is with a 300-400lb leader, 9/0-10/0 hook set and trolling gear in the 50-130lb line class.
