Shimano Tiagra 30WLRSA Wide Spool Long Range Special Lever-Drag Trolling Reel

The Shimano Tiagra 30WLRSA was the first reel to feature Shimano’s famed “L.R.S.” style drag curve. This reel was originally designed for West Coast anglers Stand-Up fishing from “Long Range” Charter Vessels. The Special-Cutting of the drag cam gives the 50WLRSA a much wider usable range of drag pressures. Directly out of Free-Spool the drag starts up soft and gradually increases up to 44lbs at full drag!  

To Maximize the 30WLRSA’s potential you should fill the reel with 80-100lb Spectra Backing and a Mono Topshot for stretch. This allows Big-Game anglers to target much larger fish with a smaller setup while still maintaining the high drag pressures normally associated with larger reels.

Like all the other Tiagra A’s the 30WLRSA features an Offset Ergonomic Power Grip, The power grip is offset on multiple axes to allow natural hand, arm and wrist angles to improve comfort and cranking torque.

• A-RB (Anti-Rust Bearings)
  Our specially treated stainless steel ball bearings are at least 10 times more corrosion resistant than standard stainless steel ball bearings.
• Forged Aluminum Spool
  These spools are made from cold forged aluminum then machined to provide an extremely dense, solid construction that can withstand the heavy drag pressures the reels can apply.
  Chrome Plated Sideplate Screws
  The sideplate screws are chrome plated to prevent corrosion.
• 2-Speed Gearing
  Uses 2 sets of gears that are always engaged for quick, easy gear ratio changes even under load.
• Ratcheting Drag Lever
  Eliminates the chance of the drag lever backing off due to boat vibration and allows for more precise adjustment.
• Clicker
  The clicker increases the tension on freespool and activates a clicking alarm when a fish bites.

  The handle grip material, Septon, is soft to the touch and does not get slippery when wet
